It comes double boxed surrounded by Styrofoam. Each shelf unit is rapped in foam cloth. It was very easy to assemble up until the last step. All parts were very clearly labeled with small whit removable stickers. The pegging used was locking bolts. One end screwed in then the other end slid into a predrilled hole on the other piece that had a locking unit. This was the 2nd desk I put together this month and this one was much simpler then the lower quality desk I did for my kids. When it came to putting the top of the desk on we had some problems with the holes not lining up with the pegs. But after some coaxing it slid on and was able to be locked down. The desk itself is is huge and very nice looking. It is very stury and well built. I have a 27" monitor and still have plenty of room for all my paper work. The only thing that I don't... There were a few scratches but nothing bad. There were a lot of pieces and it's very heavy. I recommend getting sliders for under it. There was also an issue with one of the poles that go into the drawer. The part it screws into is stripped. We were able to push it in the hole enough that it wasn't much of an issue. Things do not fit completely flush but all the important parts do. The color is hard to match to anything else. It's a little dark and slightly red or orange. Still, the drawer works well and there is enough space for what I need. I might add some extra shelves but everything is good. 1 of 3 people found the following review helpful great desk looks awsome!!!, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Complete Computer Workstation with Storage (Kitchen) nice desk for short money! the desk is made of pressed wood and glue, but the differance is it's got a lamnet covering wrapped around the whole piece of wood with no seams, unlike my old desk that had seams on the edges with lamnet that was peeling off i can't find any seams at all. it took me about 3 hr's to put it together that included taking apart my old desk. this is a nice desk for the money if you want real wood you'll pay over $400.00 i paid $177. good desk for the money. the shelves aren't very big on the side but they work good for holding you software i have my subwoofer on one of the shelves and the cd rack is nice goes from the floor to the top of the desk works well! the desk works well for me. those are my photo's i posted of the desk after i finished it i a'm using the desk in the corner of my room facing out so i sit behind it looking out into the room. i love it plenty of room with all my stuff a 24" monitor,vtech cordless phone,satellite radio blackberry desktop...
