It is a perfect fit in his room, doesn't take up a lot of space and can be easily moved around if needed. It is sturdy and has room to suit all his needs for laptop, printer, books, and accessories. I would recommend this item to anyone who is limited on space. It arrived a few days before it was supposed to. It is easy to assemble, having labeled parts and tools to assemble the desk. I had two problems: the first is that the surface material partially covers the screw holes, giving the impression that the screws are too big. The second problem is that the screws that hold the keyboard panel on are very tight. The desk easily accommodates my 17" laptop and mouse WITHOUT the shelf. The shelf is removable and has no screw holes or screws to get lost. It is slightly too high for me to sit on my low couch comfortably. When I put the shelf on to hold my game case, the mouse has to sit on the keyboard shelf. This is not a problem since I have a keyboard built into my laptop. My Logitech laser mouse does not work on the surface, so buy a mousepad if you don't already own one. The desk has locks on it's front two casters. It is very stable. I roll it over carpet and foam tile regularly and haven't felt the least...
