It is being used as a cordless printer stand adjacent to a desk. The design with the floating glass top creates a space under the glass for handy storage of printer paper. The drawer arrangement is ideal for a student who does not need two file drawers the same size, or who may have other file drawers. The packaging was very carefully done with adequate protection for shipping. The instructions were clear and relatively easy to follow. The parts were very well marked and easy to relate to the instructions and illustrations. Yes, the finish is artificial, an applied layer of plastic or very hard semi-gloss paper, but it looks convincing, especially for a location not very prominent or subject to scrutiny. The finish is quite tasteful. The drawers work smoothly. Construction is sturdy enough. The caster under the bottom drawer is an excellent idea. It looks great and I love the locking wheels in front.I am not sure why it lists "metal" as its material type though. It's probably constructed of mdf or engineered wood with some sort of laminate covering. The only, wholly, metal parts are the lock, handles, support rods for hanging files, and supports for the blue tinted glass. Everything arrived in great condition, especially the glass, and the boards seem more durable than your typical laminate-covered mdf boards. I still wouldn't recommend getting it wet though. I also like the space underneath the glass shelf, where I can put all my external drives, receivers, and other computer-related knick-knacks.  Does the job, looks nice, By Sean W. The desk is a light green this is more of a blue. The desk is sandblasted and the cabinet is not. It does seem pretty solid and has enough storage space for a home office. $99 shipped....who's complaining?! |
